So I just got my new running shoes in, and I decided to take a break from work and give the New Balance 1080v7 a trial run. Now, after my last post where I talked about the Blerch catching up to me, I figured it was a good time to get back outside and run.
I’ve done a lot of research on running shoes lately (more than usual) because Asics went and ruined my favorite model (the Nimbus), and I’ve been Zappos-ing a lot of trials lately.
My current attempt is the New Balance 1080v7 because I have been having knee and ankle pain when running (which is why I’ve been out of it lately, though more than a little bit of it is pure laziness, too), and the 1080 line is supposed to be great for that.
With that said, you can watch this video to see what I think.
Are you a New Balance runner? This is my first pair, so tell me what you think!
10(ish)-mile update:Â Still really liking the shoes. I think my socks are the issue with the hotspots on the balls of my feet. I am going to head to Fleet Feet this weekend to see what options they have. I am tempted, however, to order a half-size up (from a 9.5 to a 10) from Zappos to try. I loosened the laces a bit, but the upper still feels potentially too snug. I might also try a 9.5 2E at some point to see if the extra fabric helps.
